Every person aspires to have long, shiny, thick, silky hair. Your hair's maintenance reflects your personality. It’s not about fulfilling beauty standards but about your health and hygiene. Taking care of your hair is not expensive or time-consuming. Making some minor changes in your hair care routine might do wonders. Here are a few tips on how to take care of hair.

Washing greatly influences your hair health. Washing your hair daily is not advisable. However, it depends on factors like exposure to pollution, chemicals, dust, sweating, and humidity. Consider following things while taking a shower.
● Use a mild shampoo with lower ph., compatible with your hair type.
● While shampooing, focus on the scalp and roots than on the hair lengths. It is your scalp that needs proper cleansing.
● Hot water dehydrates your hair. Use warm water.
● After washing, the application of conditioner prevents hair from becoming lackluster.
2. Drying
● Wrap a small soft towel around your head.
● Avoid twisting but squeeze hair lightly. Later expose them to natural air.
● Use a hairdryer only when in a hurry, keeping the nozzle at least 6 inches away from your head.
3. Combing
● Combing helps in untying the knots. Start combing from the ends of hair and gradually move towards the scalp.
● Rigorous combing or combing in wet hair results in hair breakage. Use soft wide-tooth combs and hairbrushes with soft bristles.
4. Pamper Your Dyed Hair
● Dyed hair is prone to dryness and hair loss due to chemical exposure. So they need extra care.
● Avoid experimenting with your hair in terms of playing with hair dyes. For dyed hair, choose a shampoo with color protection. Such shampoos contain lesser sulfate, an ingredient causing fading of color.

You might harm your hair through some styling routine as curling, straightening, or blow-drying.
● Application of heat protectant saves the hair from the damage of heat styling sessions.
Never use heating tools on damp hair. The effect is like pouring water on a hot pan. Adjust your tools on a low to medium setting to lessen the damage.
● Ponytails are always in trend. However, pulling up the hair causes strain on your hair roots. Slightly loosen your ponytail.
